This is a short collection of some of the environmental portraiture I’ve taken this year across Ireland. My favorite is the first one  -its the one that I’ve had he most trouble taking :-). These cover quite a bit of ground from Ennistymon to Listowel in the south and Cavan and Derry in the north

I spent a weekend in Killarney 2 weeks ago and spend a great weekend photographing deer ( and the occasional duck). We stayed at the lakes hotel in Killarney – I could not reccomend the hotel highly enough – fantastic setting, great food and extremely friendly & help staff. If you are into photography, its the perfect place to stay! Anyway, despite fairly challenging weather, we did get some nice shots

I was in Hollywood in Wicklow on Wednesday night at the village was getting ready for the weekend festival. One of the things they were testing was the forge they built.  The light was terrible and there were too many people around.

These are the best I got on the night!

I was looking at a panel a friend of mine prepared for his MFIAP submission, Gabriel O’Shaughnessey and was fascinated by his shots of old  abandoned houses. So I decided that the next opportunity, I would give it a go. Last weekend I was in Macroom  in west Cost and had accesss to an old abandoned shop so these are my first attempt…..  Two of the images are HDR, the rest are straight single shots. The black & White processing was done in Silver Efex Pro 2. Apart for the picture that appears in a number ofthe shots, everything else was in the shop and I did a little re-arranging to suit compositions. There was not a lot left of the shop itself, just the old cigarette cabinet.
