1. Images from Ireland

A selection of images from Ireland – the people, places and its landscape. One of my particular interests in the Irish shopkeepers. There are  a diminishing number of these very traditional shops around and  I love stumbling across these gems. The simple layout and the characters are unique and there is always a friendly banter and sometimes a very Irish story behind the shop.

2. Images from Nepal

My wife and I travelled to Nepal  in 2016, just a year after the last big disastrous earthquake to hit this unfortunate country.Our primary goal was to visit an Action Aid  project in the village of Dharamanger, but we were lucky enough to be able to take in other parts of this absolutely fantastic country. The outstanding memory is of the people – their diversity, generosity  and welcome were outstanding and have caused us to fall in love with this mountain region of Asia. In particular, we were struck by the Tibetan people we me in Phokara – there sense of community and family resonated with  us as Irish people as well as a shared life experience  of occupation and conflict driven by religion and ideology.

3. The mystique of Morocco

2019  gave us an opportunity to travel to Morocco. From the chaos of Marrakesh to the high Atlas Mountains and the Sahara desert, Morocco offers a unique experience totally different to anything experienced by a European resident.
